CityWest Homes ahead of game in offering real help for private sector Tenants and response to Communities and Local Government
CityWest Homes has become the first ALMO in the country to start up and successfully run a lettings agency – a key recommendation in Housing Minister Margaret Beckett’s new package of measures to strengthen consumer protection for Tenants living in private rented accommodation, which was announced last week.
CityWest Homes Residential was set up in March this year and has already enjoyed a busy start with a rapidly increasing private property, private and social applicant register. The company is also a voluntary member of ARLA and the Property Ombudsman which demonstrates the commitment of the organisation to uphold professional practices within the lettings market.
Mark Hoyland CityWest Homes Chief Executive said; “By using our considerable local knowledge and housing management experience, we have developed a successful lettings and property management service. We’re delighted that Margaret’s Beckett’s recent announcement recognises the importance and significance of such an organisation.
“We’re committed to developing best practices, with the overall aim of raising the bar within the lettings industry. Our approach is transparent, modern, fresh and one which sets a high standard.”
In addition to finding private Tenants for private Landlords, Richard Beltrán, Head of Lettings at CityWest Homes Residential has developed a hybrid service for private Landlords and Tenants in receipt of the new Local Housing Allowance.
